I’ve worshipped with the song “Oceans” for years now. So often that sometimes I sing it without even thinking about the words. But It’s crazy how this song has changed for me over the years. I used to sing this and not really understand the full depth of what I was asking God to do in my life. But I asked, and he answered.
“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior”

I didn’t really understand what it would look like for God to take me deeper than my own feet could ever wander. And I still don’t fully know. But now when I sing this song I praise him because he did exactly what I asked. He took me farther into the depths of the unknown than I would ever even consider going on my own. And through it all he has proven time and time again that he will never fail me. He’s always brought me peace and hope every time I feel like giving up. I’m thankful for my trials because that is where my relationship with Jesus grew more than ever. He is the reason I have joy! There is no good apart from him. And in him there is perfect love. I’m constantly in awe at how he lovingly reminds me that he is enough. I pray that everyone reading this would get to experience the same love that he gives me. He’s a good father, and he wants to know us and to be in relationship with us. The beautiful thing is that His love is available to each and every one of us.
“Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine”
